Citizens for Cody Rose
Privacy Policy
What this campaign collects, what it does with it, and what it will never do with your phone number.
Effective October 6, 2026.
This policy covers votecodyrose.com and the calls and text messages sent by Citizens for Cody Rose ("the campaign", "we", "us"), the committee supporting Cody Rose, write-in candidate for Sheriff of Marion County, Illinois.
Mobile numbers and text messaging
No mobile information will be shared by us with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared by us with any third parties.
SMS opt-in is never sold, rented, or shared.
You only receive calls and texts from the campaign if you check the consent box on one of our forms. The box is never checked for you, and a phone number is never required to use a form. Messages include campaign updates, election and voting reminders, volunteer and event information, and requests for contributions. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to end them, or HELP for help. The full program terms are in the Mobile Terms and Conditions.
We keep a record of your opt-in (the date, the form you used, and the number you gave) so we can show that you consented and so we can honor a STOP request.
What we collect
- What you type into a form. The volunteer, yard sign, event invitation, and write-in pledge forms ask for your name and, as you choose, a phone number, an email address, a town or township, a precinct, a delivery address, and any notes you add.
- The community survey. It asks for no name. If you leave the reply box blank, nothing you send identifies you to the campaign.
- Questions to the "Ask about Cody" box. Your question is processed to produce an answer and is not stored by the campaign.
- The write-in practice page. It keeps a count of how many times the practice was completed. It does not record who completed it or what was typed.
- Site traffic. We use cookieless traffic measurement from Cloudflare, which counts page views without advertising cookies and without tracking you across other sites. Our form handler does not store your IP address or browser details with your submission.
How we use it
- To answer you, deliver a yard sign, schedule an event, or organize volunteers.
- To send voting reminders and campaign updates by email, and by call or text if you opted in.
- To meet legal duties, including Illinois campaign finance reporting.
Who handles it
Your information stays with this campaign. It is not sold, traded, or given to a party organization. A small number of companies process it for us so the site and our messages work: Cloudflare (site hosting, form storage, spam protection, traffic counts), Resend (delivery of form notices to the campaign inbox), Google (the campaign email inbox and web fonts), and a text messaging platform that delivers our messages. They act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own marketing. As stated above, mobile opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party.
We may disclose information when the law requires it, for example in response to a valid court order.
Donations
Contributions are processed by Anedot on its own site under its own privacy policy. Illinois law requires the campaign to report certain contributor information (such as name, address, and, above set amounts, occupation and employer) to the Illinois State Board of Elections, which publishes those reports.
How long we keep it
We keep supporter information through the November 3, 2026 general election and the wrap-up period that follows, and longer only where campaign finance law requires records to be kept.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any text to stop texts. Reply HELP for help.
- Ask us to stop emailing or calling you, to correct your information, or to delete it, using the contact details below. We will do it promptly unless the law requires us to keep a record.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
